Rick Williams

Founder | CEO

Good morning, afternoon or night, depending on what time you read this! I’m Rick Williams, founder and CEO of CloudSmart IT. I may be the CEO but I’m far from a stuffy guy in a suit with a rotating closet of ties, rushing from meeting to meeting with my expensive briefcase. You’ll find me in blue jeans, taking out the trash when nobody else has volunteered (oddly, this isn’t infrequent…) and keeping things simple wherever I can.

I come from a world that values real-world experience over fancy degrees that often talk the talk but can’t walk the walk. Education is important, and I do value mine highly, but there is so much that can’t be taught from a textbook. I moved to Nashville in 2000 and have found myself involved with so many small businesses over the years, taking great pride in my relationships with bosses and employees alike.

At home, I’m the family man, and I cherish my time with my wife Dr. Amanda Williams and our two children Anna and Asa. I believe in treating everybody fairly and justly both at work and at home, as relationships are my bread and butter and technology is simply the delicious spread on top.

My interest in technology started when I was 15, when my dad took me to a warehouse filled with printers that needed refurbishing. I was hooked instantly, taking them apart and rebuilding them before stacking them up and sending them out.

From there, I worked as a salesman, selling both new and old computers, and then tried my hand at studying at Lipscomb University. That held my interest for no longer than 2 months, and I ended up starting my first company called Nerds on the Go (you can’t say I’m not self-aware). It wasn’t quite the professional image I was going for, so I came up with Techopoly, which I loved every second of prior to selling it in 2012! Knowing what IT budgets looked like and how to build a great team, I gathered my greatest strengths, added them together, and CloudSmart IT was born in 2015.

I love to ramble, so no need to tell me to wrap it up! If you’d like to hear more, however, I’m a cheap coffee date (and I love any excuse for coffee, so please, indulge me). All in all, I’m proud to say CloudSmart IT is more than just an IT company— we’re people who care for people, day in and day out.

Chris Kirby

VP of Sales

Hi there! I’m Chris, a fun-loving guy who loves to build relationships (and businesses!). I grew up in North Carolina before moving to Nashville for college at Lipscomb, and now the city just can’t get rid of me. I spent 20 years in full-time church ministry and real estate roles, during which time I met CloudSmart IT’s founder and CEO Rick Williams. He noticed my passion for meeting and helping people and treating others fairly, and made the great decision to bring me into the CloudSmart IT family.

As a fair, friendly, and dedicated people person, I love to build relationships that are grounded in trust. I thrive on assisting others to navigate the ever-changing IT world, as I know how difficult it can be! I love to help our business partners feel like family, and at the end of the day, my main aim is to have people know they can lean on CloudSmart IT to enhance their safety, productivity, and efficiency.

Luis Salazar

Support Engineer

Hey there! My name’s Luis Salazar and I’m a proud family man with a passion for IT. Before venturing into IT I spent many years in the Air Force, which is where I picked up the IT bug (but not the millennium bug, so don’t worry)! After this I was the Network Engineer for a nationally recognized public library system for 12 years.

I joined CloudSmart IT in December 2019 as a Support Engineer, where most of my days involve helping people solve their technical problems. As a member of the Harpeth Hills Church of Christ I genuinely love to help others, so this role blends many of my passions together. While I’ve been with CloudSmart IT I’ve had the privilege of getting to know the company’s founder and CEO Rick Williams, which has been a pleasure.

In my spare time, I love to spend my weekends, evenings, and holidays with my family. My wife Rosanna and I have been married for over 40 wonderful years, and we have raised two daughters who have given us the joys of seven grandchildren. We love to play cornhole, study the Bible, and just generally leave the world’s stressors behind as we relax in each other’s company.

Marie Cronin

Operations Administrator

Hi! I’m Marie Cronin, CloudSmart IT’s Operations Administrator. After joining the company in July 2021, I’ve gotten to know my amazing colleagues well on a personal and professional level (just quietly, I may have lost a game or two of cornhole over the summer, but I’ve got a plan to win the next tournament)!

I use my extensive customer service and customer relations background every day at work as I prepare campaigns, organize meetings, fulfill lead generations, and monitor social media accounts. I keep our clients up to date and in the know by responding to emails and generally keeping in touch via all kinds of communications.

When I’m not at work I love to spend time with my family, friends, and pets. I can do all of these things in my beloved garden, which I do as often as I can, where I can combine my love of the outdoors and connecting with the important people (and pets!) in my life. P.S. Did you know I was once in a school musical with Britney Spears? Maybe I’ll invite her to my next garden party…

Adam Habib

IT Support Technician

Hi! My name is Adam, and I am a Help Desk Team Lead with 5 years of experience as a Help Desk technician. I started out supporting users in university and hospital settings before joining this team and supporting all different kinds of businesses. In school, I studied Computer Science and Computer Engineering before realizing IT is my true passion. My typical day involves taking calls and reaching out to end users and vendors to solve issues, as well as keeping communication lines open to make sure we get to a resolution. Your problem is my problem! One time, I worked all through the night with our engineers to bring a site back online after an Intel update made every single computer in the production facility get stuck on a black screen. Outside of work, I once participated in a 100-mile bike race in the California summer heat. For some reason, I was less sore afterwards than all the training rides beforehand! On top of cycling, I like to try new foods, listen to music, try new foods, play video games, and mess around with small Linux servers, running alternative operating systems on devices never meant to run them.

Terra Pavone

IT Support Technician

Hey there! My name is Terra, and I’m a Help Desk Tech with a background as a former Sys Admin, a MCP 2008 Certification, and over 15 years of corporate IT experience. I did take a break from corporate IT to work in video editing and graphic design for about 5 years before COVID, so I am very knowledgeable of the Adobe Creative Cloud. At the moment, I am studying Pen testing and Python scripting. A typical day involves all kinds of challenges – but it’s never boring! I’m happy to serve our clients and ensure that we always come to a resolution. In fact, I once spent 28 hours migrating a Windows NT domain to 2003 AD. The server crashed during a Thursday lunch, and we spent all that time rebuilding the domain and migrating machines over. On a lighter note, I love when tech support scammers call me because I like to keep them on the phone for hours in an endless loop of end user questions – I figure they can’t scam anyone’s grandma while I’m on the line with them! Outside of work, I am a Deep House music DJ and E-Scooter enthusiast. I play Fortnite and like to refurbish old tech and find new uses for it.
