Nonprofit A

Problem:

Due to old servers and computers and a poorly set-up network, file sharing and workflow were slow and inefficient. On top of that, their previous IT provider was slow to respond and had poor communication skills with the client, meaning they would often get behind in their work, spend their own time troubleshooting issues, and be frustrated with their technology.

Solution:

Success:

Cost is always a big deal for nonprofits as they want every penny to go to their mission! However, they also need IT solutions that are going to help them get their job done efficiently to help the folks they serve. To cut costs, we transitioned them from their old physical server to SharePoint online, which is included in their Microsoft M365 licenses, for efficient, cloud-based file sharing. BTW, did you know that nonprofits can get M365 for free or at a reduced price? Ask us how! During onboarding, we cleaned up the mess in their office network, installed a WatchGuard Firewall, new Ubiquiti switches and Wi-Fi access points that we manage, improved wiring issues, and optimized access point placement. All of this gave them a much more secure and stable office network. We also worked to create a plan to replace the aging combination of desktops and laptops with quality laptops for all of their employees. This helped maximize their productivity, reduce the total number of computers to maintain, and keep them running smoothly. Oh, and the slow response times from the previous company are gone now when they do need support. Lastly, we avoid “Geek Speak” so the client knows what work we are doing and why!

Problem:

This church had an ineffective network and a poorly configured server. Their computers were old and slowed down the ability of the church staff to work effectively. On top of that, the previous IT company who supported the church would charge big bills for each on-site visit, whether it was warranted or not.

Success:

It costs money to run and support a server. Sometimes it is worth the money. However, they were not utilizing theirs properly because everything was set up incorrectly. Now, they are taking advantage of the SharePoint file management that is included with their free nonprofit M365 licenses. With the money they are saving from dropping the server, they have been able to buy new computers. Also, on the rare occasion that we need to go on-site for support, we do not surprise them with big bills because the truck rolls and service are included! We believe every organization, especially nonprofits, should be able to budget their IT support and get great service at the same time!

Nonprofit C

Problem:

This local nonprofit needs cost-effective IT that works and support they can rely on. When you are small, it can be hard to get the right IT support without breaking your IT budget.

Success:

This is a unique situation, as this nonprofit was a client we served before they left hoping to save a little money. After a few short months, they returned because they realized that cheap is not always the best solution. When an MSP is too cheap, it is hard to have support that responds quickly, or they use outsourced help-desk resources who can be limited in knowledge and slow down getting problems corrected. While we charge just a little more, our support has been much faster, and our advise has helped them transition file-sharing applications they once paid for to SharePoint to save money each month. On top of that, we now provide their VoIP phones to save them even more money than their previous provider.
